tldr: my top 3 pizza spots: 1000 oaks (best wood-fired, koregaon park, rs 1400 for two), dario’s (best thin crust, koregaon park, rs 1200 for two), and brik oven (best sourdough base, baner, rs 1000 for two). i eat pizza at least once a week. here’s where the good stuff is.
i eat too much pizza. i know this. my nutritionist knows this. my bank account knows this.
but pune’s pizza scene has genuinely gotten good. five years ago your options were domino’s, pizza hut, and whatever the local restaurant menu called “pizza” (hint: it was a roti with ketchup and cheese). now there are proper wood-fired ovens, imported italian flour, 72-hour fermented dough, san marzano tomatoes. real pizza is happening in pune.
here’s my honest ranking of 12 pizza spots. from rs 200 chain pizza to rs 800 neapolitan slices. all tested, all eaten, all judged.
for the broader food scene: restaurants guide and cafes guide.
the awards (my personal picks)
- best overall pizza: 1000 oaks, koregaon park
- best wood-fired: 1000 oaks, proper imported oven
- best thin crust: dario’s, koregaon park
- best sourdough base: brik oven, baner
- best budget pizza: la pino’z, value king
- best delivery: la pino’z for value, domino’s for speed
- best for groups: little italy, big pizzas, group-friendly
- most overrated: pizza hut, just stop

the best pizza in pune
1. 1000 oaks
koregaon park / rs 1400 for two / 9/10
this is where real pizza happens in pune.
the wood-fired oven is the real deal. imported from italy, burning at 400+ degrees, turning out pizzas with that perfect leopard-spotted crust. the margherita is how i judge every pizzeria, san marzano tomatoes, fior di latte, fresh basil, olive oil. 1000 oaks nails it.
the dough is fermented for 72 hours. you can taste the difference. the crust has chew, structure, and that slight sourdough tang. the toppings are quality. the burrata pizza is obscene in the best way.
is it expensive? for pune, yes. rs 600-800 for a pizza. but this is the only place in pune where the pizza would hold up in a conversation about good pizza anywhere in the world.
what to order: margherita, burrata pizza, diavola, tiramisu verdict: best pizza in pune. not close. if you care about pizza, you have to come here.
2. dario’s
koregaon park / rs 1200 for two / 8.5/10
thin crust done right. dario’s has been in koregaon park for years and the pizza has stayed consistent. the crust is cracker-thin, crispy, and holds its toppings well.
the quattro formaggi is my regular order. four cheeses, perfectly melted, on that thin base. the prosciutto pizza is excellent if you eat meat. the pasta is also good but you’re here for the pizza.
less artisan than 1000 oaks but more accessible. the prices are reasonable for the quality. the ambiance is classic italian trattoria.
what to order: quattro formaggi, prosciutto, margherita, panna cotta verdict: best thin crust pizza in pune. consistent, delicious, properly italian.
3. brik oven
baner / rs 1000 for two / 8.5/10
sourdough crust pizza. the concept is brilliant. the base has that fermented tang, slightly chewy texture, and beautiful char from their oven. it’s different from both neapolitan and thin crust. it’s its own thing.
the truffle mushroom pizza is the signature. the bbq chicken is surprisingly good. the portions are generous. baner finally has a pizza place worth driving to.
they deliver too, and the pizza survives delivery better than most because the sourdough crust stays good even when it’s not scorching hot.
what to order: truffle mushroom, margherita, bbq chicken verdict: most innovative pizza in pune. the sourdough base is a game-changer.
4. bruno’s pizzeria
camp / rs 800 for two / 8/10
classic italian pizza in camp. no gimmicks, no trends. just solid pizza-making. the crust is medium thickness, the sauce is well-seasoned, the cheese is properly melted.
bruno’s has been around long enough to have earned its reputation. the pepperoni pizza is the bestseller. the garlic bread is addictive.
lower price point than the koregaon park options. good value for genuine italian pizza.
what to order: pepperoni, margherita, garlic bread verdict: best value italian pizza in pune. camp’s pizza champion.
5. pizza republica
baner / rs 600 for two / 8/10
casual pizza spot that doesn’t pretend to be fine dining. personal pizzas start at rs 250. the crust is decent. the toppings are generous. the speed is fast.
this is where i go when i want pizza without the commitment of a rs 1400 meal. the peri peri chicken pizza is my go-to.
what to order: peri peri chicken, classic margherita, garlic cheese bread verdict: best casual pizza in baner. quick, affordable, solid.
the budget zone
6. la pino’z
multiple outlets / rs 400 for two / 7.5/10
the value king of pune pizza. massive pizzas at absurd prices. a large pizza for rs 300-400. the quality is decent, not artisan, but leagues better than domino’s.
the oregano seasoning they use is addictive. the cheese burst is genuinely cheesy. for the price, the quality-to-cost ratio is unbeatable.
my go-to for lazy sunday delivery when i don’t want to spend 1000 oaks money.
what to order: cheese burst, farmhouse, peppy paneer verdict: best budget pizza in pune. domino’s-killer at domino’s prices.
7. domino’s
multiple outlets / rs 400 for two / 7/10
it’s domino’s. you know what it is. 30-minute delivery, consistent quality, frequent deals. the cheese burst is their only good product. the rest is fine.
i order domino’s when it’s 11pm and nothing else delivers. that’s its role in my life. the emergency pizza.
what to order: cheese burst only, everything else is average verdict: the emergency option. fast, fine, forgettable.
the decent ones
8. little italy
multiple outlets / rs 1400 for two / 7/10
the pizza is fine. the pasta is better. little italy has been coasting for years. the margherita is acceptable. the premium pizzas are overpriced for what you get. i’ve said this in my restaurant guide too: living off reputation.
verdict: fine but not worth the price anymore. better options exist.
9. the flour works
kalyani nagar / rs 1200 for two / 7/10
their pizza is good but pizza isn’t their strength. the pancakes and brunch items are better. the pizza is an afterthought on a menu that excels elsewhere.
verdict: get the pancakes. the pizza is a sideshow.
10. grandmama’s cafe
koregaon park / rs 1000 for two / 7/10
the chicken tikka pizza is unexpectedly good. fusion pizza done right. but the classic pizzas are average. come for the tikka pizza specifically.
verdict: one good pizza (tikka), the rest are average.
11. mojo pizza
delivery only / rs 500 for two / 6.5/10
cloud kitchen pizza. decent toppings, forgettable crust. it arrives, you eat, you forget. functional but not memorable.
verdict: forgettable delivery pizza. exists for convenience.
12. pizza hut
multiple outlets / rs 600 for two / 6/10
pizza hut peaked in 2005. the stuffed crust was revolutionary then. now it’s just a mediocre chain charging more than la pino’z for worse pizza. the pan pizza is soggy. the toppings are stingy.
verdict: skip. la pino’z does everything pizza hut does, better and cheaper.
pizza styles in pune: a quick guide
- neapolitan (wood-fired): 1000 oaks. charred, chewy, thin center, puffy edges. the real deal.
- thin crust: dario’s, bruno’s. crispy, minimal dough, toppings-focused.
- sourdough: brik oven. fermented base, tangy, unique texture.
- american/delivery: domino’s, la pino’z. thick, cheesy, designed for delivery.
