tl;dr: honest reviews of 15 NEET coaching institutes in patna with fees from rs 30,000 to rs 4,60,000. results compared, batch sizes, scholarships, and what actually works.

tldr: top 3 picks for NEET coaching in patna: GOAL institute (kankarbagh, rs 30,000-50,000/year, patna’s NEET specialist with 25+ years), mentors eduserv (boring road, rs 1,50,000-2,00,000 for 2 years, highest selections in eastern india), and physics wallah vidyapeeth (saguna more, rs 23,000-1,15,000, best value with up to 90% scholarships). full breakdown of 15 institutes with fees, results, faculty, and the honest truth below.

patna is my hometown, and the medical coaching scene here has exploded in the last decade.

i remember when every kid in my family who wanted to be a doctor had one plan: go to kota. my cousins, family friends, everyone packed their bags for rajasthan. the logic was simple. patna had “local coaching” and kota had allen and aakash. if you were serious about NEET, you left.

that math doesn’t add up anymore.

allen is now in patna. aakash has 4 centers across the city. sri chaitanya set up shop in kankarbagh. motion opened on boring road. and patna’s own institutes like GOAL and mentors eduserv have been quietly producing results that rival anything kota puts out. mentors eduserv alone has 3,100+ NEET qualifiers. GOAL institute has been running for 25+ years and was awarded “leading medical coaching center of the year” at the times business awards 2025.

the kankarbagh-boring road belt now has more NEET coaching institutes than most cities in india. the PG owners, the mess walas, the photocopy shops, the entire economy runs on aspirant money. it’s an ecosystem.

every time i visit patna, i see more banners, more coaching centers, more kids with NCERT books at chai stalls. my cousins who went to kota a decade ago now say they’d have stayed in patna if these options existed back then.

and with 50+ institutes now operating, choosing the right one is genuinely confusing. most “best NEET coaching in patna” articles are SEO garbage written by people who’ve never been to kankarbagh. they list institutes alphabetically and call it a review.

this isn’t that. i’ve talked to family, checked results, verified topper claims, compared fees, and read hundreds of google reviews.

here’s the honest breakdown.

top tier coaching (proven NEET results)

these are the institutes with verifiable selections across multiple NEET cycles. not marketing claims. actual results you can check.

1. GOAL institute

kankarbagh / fee: rs 30,000-50,000/year / batch size: 40-60 / 9/10

GOAL institute is patna’s original NEET specialist. founded in 1997, they’ve been doing this for over 25 years. when someone in my family says “NEET coaching,” GOAL is the first name that comes up. not allen, not aakash. GOAL.

what makes it work:

  • 25+ years focused primarily on medical entrance coaching. that kind of specialization shows in the teaching quality and material
  • awarded “leading medical coaching center of the year” at times business awards 2025. whether or not you care about awards, consistent recognition over decades means something
  • faculty that teaches specifically for NEET pattern, not generic science coaching repackaged for medical
  • over 1,20,000 students and guardians served. that’s a massive alumni network
  • the fees are shockingly reasonable for what they deliver. rs 30,000-50,000 per year when national chains charge 3x-4x more

fee breakdown:

  • foundation courses (class 9-10): rs 30,000-40,000/year
  • target NEET (class 11-12): rs 40,000-50,000/year
  • dropper/repeater batches: rs 35,000-45,000

the catch: the infrastructure is older compared to the shiny new allen and aakash centers. if you want AC classrooms with projectors and a campus that looks like a corporate office, GOAL isn’t that. the classrooms are functional, not fancy. but nobody joins coaching for the furniture. also, the popular batches fill up fast, especially after class 10 results.

verdict: if you want proven NEET results without burning rs 2-3 lakh, GOAL is the smartest choice in patna. the faculty knows the NEET paper, the fees are reasonable, and 25 years of results speak louder than any marketing campaign. my family would recommend this to anyone.

2. mentors eduserv

boring road crossing (parus lok commercial complex) / fee: rs 1,50,000-2,00,000 (2-year) / batch size: 50-70 / 9/10

mentors eduserv is the biggest success story of patna’s coaching industry. founded in 2011 by anand kumar jaiswal, they’ve grown into the number one coaching institute in eastern india. and the numbers back it up.

what makes it work:

  • 3,100+ NEET qualifiers. that’s not a typo. three thousand one hundred plus. the volume of selections is staggering
  • two students secured AIR 53 and AIR 67 in NEET. those are top-100 all-india ranks from a patna coaching center
  • 794 students selected for JEE advanced in a single year (with AIR 63 CRL). they’re strong across both medical and engineering
  • one of the largest air-conditioned infrastructure for coaching in eastern india. 3 centers in patna: boring road, kankarbagh, and bazar samiti
  • METRE scholarship test can significantly reduce fees for deserving students

fee breakdown:

  • 2-year classroom program (class 11+12): rs 1,50,000-2,00,000
  • 1-year dropper program: rs 80,000-1,20,000
  • scholarship through METRE exam can bring this down substantially

the catch: the fees are on the higher side compared to local institutes like GOAL. at rs 1,50,000-2,00,000 for the 2-year program, it’s approaching national chain pricing. the batch sizes can be large (50-70), which means less individual attention unless you’re in a top batch. some students report that the experience varies significantly between the main boring road center and the other branches.

verdict: if you can afford it (or crack the METRE scholarship), mentors eduserv gives you kota-level coaching without leaving patna. the sheer volume of their results is hard to argue with. best for students who are already somewhat self-driven and can thrive in a competitive batch environment.

3. allen career institute

patna center / fee: rs 1,33,000-1,65,000/year / batch size: 50-60 / 8.5/10

allen is the most recognized coaching brand in india, and their patna center brings kota’s methodology to bihar. when allen opened in patna, it changed the conversation. kids who would have gone to kota now had a reason to stay.

what makes it work:

  • the study material is the same as kota allen. this matters. allen’s DPP (daily practice problems), test series, and module system is battle-tested over decades
  • structured teaching methodology that’s been refined across thousands of batches nationally
  • board-result-based scholarships (MS04, MS06) can significantly reduce fees
  • regular all india test series gives you a national benchmark, not just a patna bubble

fee breakdown:

  • NEET-UG 1-year course (class 12): rs 1,33,000-1,42,000
  • NEET-UG 2-year course (class 11+12): rs 1,33,000-1,65,000/year
  • foundation courses: available at different price points

the catch: the patna center is not kota. let me be clear about this. the star faculty that allen markets, the ones with youtube followings and viral clips, they’re in kota. patna gets good teachers, but not always the A-team. the experience is structured and professional, but it can feel factory-like. if you want mentorship and personal attention, a smaller local institute might serve you better. also, at rs 1,33,000+ per year, you need to be sure the ROI makes sense for your family.

verdict: the safe national brand choice. you know what you’re getting: good material, structured program, regular testing. best for students who are disciplined enough to follow a system and don’t need heavy hand-holding. but if you’re choosing between allen patna at rs 1,33,000 and GOAL at rs 40,000, ask yourself honestly what you’re paying the extra rs 90,000 for.

4. aakash institute

4 centers: boring road, fraser road, kankarbagh, bailey road / fee: rs 1,80,000-4,60,000 / batch size: 40-60 / 8/10

aakash (now aakash BYJU’S, technically AESL) has the widest presence in patna with 4 centers across the city. that means no matter where you live, there’s an aakash within reasonable commuting distance.

what makes it work:

  • 4 centers across patna means geographical convenience. if you’re in kankarbagh, you don’t need to go to boring road. this saves commute time that adds up over 2 years
  • national testing infrastructure. the AIATS (all india aakash test series) gives you a genuine all-india rank to benchmark yourself
  • ANTHE and iACST scholarship exams offer up to 90% fee waiver. take both
  • separate medical and engineering wings. the boring road center focuses on medical (NEET), while kankarbagh handles engineering (JEE)
  • 2025 results: 2 students hit 100 percentile in JEE mains session 1, 32 students above 99 percentile

fee breakdown:

  • 1-year NEET program: rs 1,80,000-2,30,000
  • 2-year NEET program: rs 3,50,000-4,60,000
  • online programs: rs 45,000-2,28,000
  • scholarships through ANTHE: up to 90% waiver

the catch: aakash is the most expensive option in patna. at rs 4,60,000 for a 2-year NEET program, you could fund GOAL coaching for literally 10 years. the brand premium is real, but whether the teaching justifies 3x-4x the cost of local institutes is debatable. the BYJU’S merger has also created uncertainty. some patna parents tell me the quality has been inconsistent post-merger, though this is anecdotal.

verdict: worth it only with a significant scholarship. if you crack ANTHE and get 50-90% off, aakash becomes competitive. at full price, the cost-to-result ratio doesn’t beat GOAL or mentors eduserv for most students. the online programs at rs 45,000-2,28,000 are a more reasonable way to access aakash’s material.

5. sri chaitanya academy

kankarbagh (suraj trade centre) / fee: rs 1,20,000-1,80,000/year / batch size: 40-50 / 8/10

sri chaitanya is a hyderabad-based coaching powerhouse that brought its south indian teaching methodology to patna. two centers in kankarbagh give them a solid presence in the medical coaching belt.

what makes it work:

  • a teaching methodology refined over decades across thousands of batches in andhra pradesh and telangana. the south indian coaching system is extremely structured and test-driven
  • SCORE scholarship test offers up to 100% fee waiver. that’s full free coaching if you qualify
  • regular mock tests aligned with NTA pattern. the testing frequency is higher than most patna institutes
  • focus on conceptual clarity over shortcut methods. good for students who want to understand, not just memorize

fee breakdown:

  • 1-year NEET program: rs 1,20,000-1,50,000
  • 2-year NEET program: rs 1,50,000-1,80,000/year
  • scholarship through SCORE exam: up to 100% waiver

the catch: sri chaitanya’s patna centers are relatively new compared to their hyderabad operations. the brand is established nationally, but the local execution is still being refined. some students report that the faculty rotation is high, meaning you might get different teachers mid-course. the south indian teaching style (extremely structured, heavy on testing, less flexibility) doesn’t work for everyone.

verdict: a solid alternative to allen and aakash, often at a slightly lower price point. the SCORE scholarship is worth taking even if you’re considering other institutes. best for students who thrive in highly structured, test-heavy environments.

strong mid-tier options

these institutes offer genuine quality at more accessible price points. some are patna originals that deserve more recognition than they get.

6. physics wallah vidyapeeth

saguna more / ISKCON temple area / fee: rs 23,000-1,15,000 / batch size: 60-80 / 8.5/10

physics wallah has done to medical coaching what khan sir did to competitive exam coaching: made quality accessible at a price that doesn’t require a home loan. the patna vidyapeeth centers are packed.

what makes it work:

  • the most affordable serious NEET coaching in patna. rs 23,000-50,000 for offline programs is genuinely disruptive pricing
  • 6 centers in patna alone. that’s more than aakash. the expansion is aggressive
  • PWNSAT scholarship test offers up to 90% fee waiver. combine that with already low fees and you’re looking at near-free coaching
  • tech-integrated learning with app access, recorded lectures, and doubt-solving features
  • faculty often sourced from delhi and kota. the quality of instruction, when you get the right teacher, is legitimately good

fee breakdown:

  • offline NEET programs: rs 23,580-1,15,000 (varies by course duration and level)
  • dropper program: rs 1,14,460 (including GST)
  • online courses: rs 3,199-99,989
  • PWNSAT scholarship: up to 90% off

the catch: the batch sizes are large (60-80+). if you need individual attention, PW isn’t the place. the rapid expansion means quality control across 6 patna centers varies. some centers are better than others. the classroom experience can feel more like a lecture hall than a coaching institute. and the app/online component, while good, requires self-discipline to actually use consistently.

verdict: the value proposition is insane. take the PWNSAT scholarship test, and if you do well, you could get quality NEET coaching for rs 5,000-10,000. even at full price, rs 23,000-50,000 is less than what some institutes charge for their test series alone. best for budget-conscious families and self-motivated students.

7. iconic classes

boring road (ashoka tower, east boring canal road) / fee: rs 60,000-1,00,000 / batch size: 30-40 / 8/10

iconic classes is one of patna’s emerging coaching institutes that’s getting attention for the right reasons. located on east boring canal road, they’re in the heart of the coaching district.

what makes it work:

  • smaller batch sizes (30-40) compared to the big chains. this means the teacher actually knows your name
  • student reviews consistently mention that you get “more facilities than aakash at lesser cost.” that’s a strong comparison coming from students who’ve experienced both
  • approachable, well-qualified faculty. the teachers are accessible for doubt-clearing after class, not rushing out the door
  • focus on concept-building for both NEET and JEE. the physics teaching is particularly praised

fee breakdown:

  • 1-year NEET program: rs 60,000-80,000
  • 2-year program: rs 80,000-1,00,000/year

the catch: relatively new brand compared to GOAL or mentors. they don’t have the massive topper lists yet. the infrastructure is decent but not at the level of allen or aakash. no national-level test series, so you might need to supplement with one.

verdict: the sweet spot between local affordability and coaching chain quality. smaller batches at rs 60,000-1,00,000 is a great deal. if you want personal attention without paying aakash prices, iconic classes is worth exploring. attend a demo class before deciding.

8. motion education

boring road, patna / fee: rs 1,55,000-1,65,000/year / batch size: 50-60 / 7.5/10

motion education is a kota-based institute that has opened in patna, bringing their teaching methodology to bihar. they’re known for strong JEE results in kota, and they’re building their NEET presence in patna.

what makes it work:

  • kota-style module system with DPPs and regular testing
  • 2025 kota results: 11 students scored 100 percentile in JEE mains (subject-wise), 110+ students above 99 percentile
  • MOST (motion open scholarship test) for fee waivers based on performance
  • structured program that mirrors the kota experience

fee breakdown:

  • JEE/NEET preparation: rs 1,55,000-1,65,000/year
  • scholarships through MOST exam available

the catch: motion’s reputation is built on JEE results, not NEET. their patna center is new, and the results you see marketed are from kota, not from patna students. at rs 1,55,000-1,65,000, you’re paying kota prices for a patna center that doesn’t yet have a kota track record locally.

verdict: potentially good if their patna center matures, but right now, you’re paying a premium for a brand that hasn’t proven itself in patna specifically. wait for a year of local results before committing, or take their scholarship test and go only if you get a significant discount.

9. MCM classes

kankarbagh / fee: rs 50,000-90,000 / batch size: 30-40 / 7.5/10

MCM classes has been running for 10+ years in kankarbagh, quietly building a reputation for concept-focused teaching in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

what makes it work:

  • experienced educators who focus on conceptual clarity, not just exam tricks
  • smaller batches (30-40) with personal attention
  • located in kankarbagh, the heart of patna’s coaching district
  • strong focus on practical application and problem-solving skills
  • students regularly gain admission to IITs, AIIMS, and other top institutions

fee breakdown:

  • 2-year program: rs 50,000-90,000/year
  • individual subject batches available at lower rates

the catch: no national brand recognition. the marketing is minimal, which means fewer students know about them. the results are solid but not in the volume that mentors or GOAL can claim.

verdict: good local option with reasonable fees and small batches. best for students who value teacher accessibility and concept clarity over brand names. particularly strong in physics.

10. bansal learning

patna / fee: rs 80,000-1,40,000 / batch size: 40-50 / 7.5/10

bansal classes was the original kota coaching institute. the one that started it all. bansal learning is their extension into other cities, and patna is one of their centers.

what makes it work:

  • the bansal legacy carries weight. their teaching methodology and module system have been refined since the 1990s
  • focus on IIT-JEE primarily, but their NEET programs leverage the same strong science teaching
  • good study material and testing framework inherited from the kota setup
  • moderate fees compared to allen and aakash

fee breakdown:

  • 2-year JEE/NEET program: rs 80,000-1,40,000/year
  • individual course options available

the catch: the bansal brand has declined nationally over the past decade. the kota center isn’t what it used to be, and the patna center operates in the shadow of that decline. the facilities are functional but not premium. faculty quality can be inconsistent.

verdict: reasonable option if you value the structured kota-style teaching at a moderate price. don’t join for the brand name alone. attend demo classes and evaluate the current faculty. the material is still good even if the brand has faded.

budget and free options

not every family can spend rs 1-2 lakh on coaching. these options exist for a reason.

11. narayana coaching centers

patna / fee: rs 1,50,000-1,77,000/year / batch size: 50-60 / 7/10

narayana is asia’s largest educational institute with 45+ years of operations. their patna center brings the hyderabad methodology to bihar.

what makes it work:

  • massive national infrastructure. NAITS (narayana all india test series) is one of the best benchmark tests available
  • 2025 results: AIR 10 in JEE advanced (lokesh), AIR 14 in NEET UG (somya sharma), AIR 18 in NEET UG (sai jeevan kumar)
  • scholarship test offers up to 100% fee waiver
  • highly structured program with daily practice and weekly tests

the catch: the impressive results are national, not necessarily from patna. the local center is still establishing itself. at rs 1,50,000-1,77,000, it’s premium pricing for a patna center that’s newer than GOAL or mentors.

verdict: the scholarship is worth pursuing. national-level results are impressive, but verify what the patna center specifically has produced before committing at full price.

12. super 30

kumhrar, patna / fee: free / for underprivileged students

anand kumar’s super 30 is patna’s most famous educational initiative. completely free coaching, lodging, and food for 30 underprivileged students selected through an entrance exam.

how it works:

  • 30 students selected annually through an entrance test
  • completely free coaching, food, and accommodation
  • students must demonstrate financial need
  • focused IIT-JEE preparation (not NEET specifically, but the model has inspired NEET-focused free programs)

the catch: only 30 seats. the selection is extremely competitive. this isn’t a scalable solution for most students, but for those who qualify, it’s life-changing.

13. abhayanand super 30

patna / fee: nominal / batch size: 30 / 7/10

inspired by the super 30 model, abhayanand super 30 offers coaching for classes 6-12 and competitive exam preparation at nominal fees.

what makes it work:

  • affordable coaching for talented students from modest backgrounds
  • covers JEE, NEET, NTSE, KVPY, and olympiad preparation
  • good teaching approach focused on guidance and concept building

verdict: if you qualify, it’s an excellent option. the coaching quality is decent and the cost is minimal.

14. khan sir NEET batches

musallahpur / fee: rs 4,500-10,000 / 7/10 for basics

khan sir’s coaching center in musallahpur now offers NEET-specific batches in addition to their famous competitive exam courses. at rs 4,500-10,000, the price is unbeatable.

the catch: khan sir’s strength is GS, polity, and general knowledge. for NEET-level physics, chemistry, and especially biology, you’ll likely need to supplement with another institute or serious self-study. the crowd at the musallahpur center is massive, and seat availability is a genuine problem.

verdict: useful for building a general science foundation at minimal cost. don’t rely on it as your primary NEET coaching. pair it with a good test series and either self-study or another focused coaching for biology.

15. physics wallah online courses

online / fee: rs 3,199-99,989 / 7.5/10

if you can’t afford offline coaching or prefer flexibility, PW’s online NEET courses are the best digital option. alakh pandey’s physics lectures are genuinely excellent, and the platform has grown into a comprehensive NEET prep ecosystem.

the catch: online learning requires extreme self-discipline. most students in patna who start with online courses end up joining offline coaching within 3-4 months because the accountability is missing.

verdict: best as a supplement. use PW online for revision, doubt-clearing, and practice tests alongside your primary coaching. the arjuna or lakshya batch recordings are particularly good for biology and chemistry revision.

how to choose the right NEET coaching

patna has too many options. that’s actually the problem. here’s what matters when picking.

1. check the biology faculty specifically

NEET is 50% biology. most coaching institutes are strong in physics and chemistry (because IIT-JEE overlaps) but weak in biology. ask specifically about the biology faculty. who teaches it? what’s their background? how many NEET toppers have they produced? if an institute can’t give you clear answers about their biology teaching, they’re not serious about NEET.

2. verify patna center results, not national results

allen’s national results are impressive. but those are from kota, not patna. ask for patna-specific selections. how many students from this patna center cleared NEET last year? what were their scores? real institutes will share this data. marketing-first institutes will redirect you to national numbers.

3. attend demo classes in biology and organic chemistry

these are the two subjects that make or break NEET prep. sit through demo classes in both. if the biology teaching is just “read the NCERT and mark important lines,” that’s not coaching. if organic chemistry is taught as rote memorization of reactions without mechanism understanding, walk away.

4. compare total cost, not just coaching fees

the coaching fee is just one part. factor in:

  • coaching fee: rs 30,000-4,60,000
  • PG/hostel: rs 3,000-8,000/month (rs 36,000-96,000/year)
  • food: rs 2,500-4,000/month (rs 30,000-48,000/year)
  • books and material: rs 5,000-10,000/year
  • test series (if not included): rs 3,000-8,000

at GOAL institute, your total annual cost could be rs 1,00,000-1,50,000. at aakash, it could be rs 3,50,000-5,00,000. that’s 3x more for results that aren’t necessarily 3x better.

5. take every scholarship test available

seriously. take ANTHE (aakash), PWNSAT (physics wallah), SCORE (sri chaitanya), METRE (mentors), and MOST (motion). they’re all free to appear for. even if you don’t join these institutes, the scholarship offers give you negotiating leverage. and the tests themselves are good practice.

6. the dropper batch matters

statistically, most NEET qualifiers don’t crack it in their first attempt. ask about the dropper/repeater batch quality at whatever institute you’re considering. is the faculty the same as the regular batch? is the fee reduced? is there specific focus on where first-attempt students typically fail? GOAL and mentors both have dedicated dropper programs.

the NEET preparation life in patna

here’s what nobody tells you about the grind.

the geography: kankarbagh is the NEET coaching capital of patna. GOAL is here, MCM is here, sri chaitanya is here. boring road has mentors, allen, aakash, iconic, and motion. these two corridors, roughly 4km apart, contain 80% of patna’s serious medical coaching infrastructure.

the daily routine: 6 AM or 7 AM coaching class (yes, six in the morning). 3-4 hours of class. lunch. self-study. evening class or test series. revision. sleep. repeat for 1-2 years.

the numbers game: approximately 20 lakh students appear for NEET annually. roughly 1 lakh get government medical seats. that’s a 5% success rate. patna’s top coaching institutes claim 15-30% conversion rates, which are significantly better than the national average. but understand that these numbers include all qualifiers, not just students who get their preferred college.

the cost: if you’re staying in patna with family, your only expense is coaching fees. if you’re relocating, budget rs 7,000-12,000/month for PG + food + miscellaneous. the cost of living in patna is significantly lower than delhi, mumbai, or even kota.

the support system: this is patna’s biggest advantage. the coaching culture here means you’re surrounded by aspirants. the PGs near coaching centers are full of NEET students. study groups form organically. the chai stall discussions are about organic chemistry mechanisms. you’re never alone in this grind.

the verdict: if you get into a top batch at allen kota or aakash kota with a 50%+ scholarship, kota might have an edge. for everyone else, patna is the smarter choice. the teaching quality gap has narrowed dramatically, and the total cost difference of rs 1-2 lakh per year is real money for most bihar families.

my cousins went to kota because patna didn’t have options. your generation doesn’t have that problem.

final tips

1. NCERT is non-negotiable. no coaching material replaces NCERT for biology. read it cover to cover, multiple times. coaching should supplement NCERT, not replace it.

2. start in class 11, not class 12. the students who crack NEET in first attempt almost always started serious preparation in class 11. class 12 is too late for foundation-building.

3. don’t join two coaching institutes simultaneously. i’ve seen families do this. kid goes to GOAL in the morning and aakash in the evening. it’s a recipe for burnout, not success. pick one and commit.

4. buy a test series even if your coaching includes one. mentors and allen test series are excellent. buying an additional test series from a different institute gives you exposure to different question patterns.

5. take care of your health. 2 years of NEET prep will destroy your body if you let it. walk, eat properly, sleep 7 hours. the gyms in patna are affordable. use them.

final word

patna’s NEET coaching ecosystem is now genuinely competitive with kota and delhi. you don’t need to leave bihar for quality medical entrance preparation. the faculty, material, testing infrastructure, and peer group are all here.

but the coaching is a tool. NCERT is the foundation. and consistent daily effort is the only thing that actually cracks NEET.

choose an institute that fits your budget and learning style. study 8-10 hours daily. solve previous year papers until you can do them in your sleep. and remember that the rs 40 thali and the 5 AM alarm are temporary. the MBBS seat isn’t.

patna is ready. are you?
