tldr: 13 cafes in koregaon park, reviewed honestly. top picks: cafe madeline (best vibes, 9/10), one o eight (best food, 8.5/10), the sassy spoon (best instagram, 8.5/10), blue tokai (best coffee, 8/10). kp is pune’s cafe capital and this guide covers every lane worth walking.
koregaon park is pune’s cafe capital. that’s not even debatable.
within a 2km radius you’ve got parisian patisseries, wellness studios disguised as cafes, proper european bistros, an iconic bakery from the 1980s, and at least three places where someone is shooting a reel at any given moment.
i’ve been coming to kp for cafes since college. some of these places i’ve visited 20+ times. some i tried recently because someone on reddit wouldn’t stop recommending them. either way, these are honest opinions based on actual visits and actual money spent. not brand deals, not sponsored content.
if you’ve read my 29 best cafes in pune guide, you’ll know kp came up more than any other area. 6 out of 29 were from here. that’s not a coincidence. this post goes deeper - covering those 6 plus hidden gems that didn’t make the main list.
let’s get into it.
the kp cafe map - know your lanes
before we start, you need to understand how koregaon park is laid out. it runs between two main roads: north main road and south main road. connecting them are lanes 1 through 7, running roughly parallel.
here’s what matters for cafe hopping:
- lane 5 - the french window, blue tokai. the quieter, more refined side of kp. tree-lined, walkable, where the expat crowd hangs.
- lane 6 - cafe 1730, farro. more of the restaurant-bar scene. gets lively in the evenings.
- lane 7 - third wave coffee, mocha, the sassy spoon. the busiest lane. nightlife central.
- north main road - cafe madeline, grandmama’s, german bakery. the main artery. this is where the big names sit.
- off the beaten path - one o eight (behind blossom boulevard), zen cafe (behind starbucks), chafa cafe (south main road). tucked away in side streets and societies. you need to know they exist to find them.
the entire area is walkable in 30-40 minutes end to end. on a cool pune evening, there’s nothing better than wandering through these lanes and popping into whatever catches your eye.

the reviews
1. cafe madeline
north main road, kp / rs 1300 for two / wifi: yes / 9/10

i wrote about this in my main pune cafe guide and my opinion hasn’t changed. this is the best cafe in koregaon park.
parisian vibes done right. baby pink walls, floral ceilings, french music playing softly. over 25 dessert varieties. the croissants are legit - buttery, flaky, properly laminated. the macarons hold up against places in mumbai. there’s a cold fashioned coffee cocktail with orange that’s unlike anything else in pune.
is it overpriced? a little, yea. rs 1300 for two isn’t cheap. but you’re paying for an experience. every corner is instagram-worthy without trying too hard. the lighting is always perfect. the staff is polite and doesn’t rush you.
i’ve come here alone, with friends, and on a date. works for all three. but it’s best as a date spot. take someone you’re trying to impress. they’ll be impressed.
best order: almond croissant + lavender latte. trust me on this.
verdict: best cafe in koregaon park, period. the aesthetic queen of kp that actually has substance behind the looks.
2. the sassy spoon
lane 7, kp / rs 1800 for two / wifi: yes / 8.5/10

there’s a literal pink vintage car at the entrance. that should tell you everything about the vibe. brick walls, hydrangeas, low-hanging lights. chef rachel goenka’s menu is eclectic european with asian twists. the cocktail menu is fire.
this place was designed by someone who understood that in 2026, a cafe needs to look good in photos. but here’s what separates sassy spoon from the hundred other “aesthetic” cafes - the food actually delivers. portions are generous. the truffle mushroom pasta is genuinely good. the dessert platter is worth splitting.
it’s premium. rs 1800 for two is real money. but if you’re celebrating something or want to feel fancy on a random tuesday, this is where you go.
best order: truffle mushroom pasta + their signature cocktail. dessert platter if you’re feeling reckless.
verdict: most instagrammable cafe in kp, and the food actually backs it up. rare combo. reviewed in my main pune guide too.
3. one o eight cafe
off lane 5 (behind blossom boulevard) / rs 1200 for two / wifi: yes / 8.5/10

this one doesn’t get talked about enough. one o eight is tucked away behind blossom boulevard, next to h2o, and most people walk right past it. their loss.
floor-to-ceiling windows. spacious layout with a stunning outdoor lawn area. the menu is health-forward without being annoying about it - wholewheat pancakes cooked in ghee with banana and seasonal fruits, cacao berry smoothie bowls, solid egg preparations, vegan options that genuinely taste good. they care about ingredients here.
the wifi is reliable and the staff doesn’t rush you. i’ve worked here for 3-4 hours without the look. the coffee is good - their cold brew is underrated. the smoothie bowls are genuinely some of the best in pune.
it’s slightly expensive but you’re getting quality food with actual thought behind it, not just a pretty plate.
best order: cacao berry smoothie bowl for breakfast. wholewheat ghee pancakes if you’re hungry. the cold brew for caffeine.
verdict: kp’s most underrated cafe. best food quality in the area if you care about what’s actually in your food, not just how it looks on instagram.
4. the french window patisserie
lane 5, kp / rs 1200 for two / wifi: yes / 8/10

french pastries, buttery croissants, properly made coffee. lane 5 is the quiet, tree-lined part of kp and the french window fits that energy perfectly. this isn’t a place where people come to be loud. it’s where the expat crowd reads books, where freelancers answer emails, where pet parents bring their dogs.
bungalow-style layout with open-air seating and lush greenery. the smoking area is separate, which is nice. the pain au chocolat is legit. the eggs benedict for brunch is solid.
i come here when i need to work and want to feel like i’m somewhere in europe. it works. wifi is consistent, the crowd is respectful of shared space, and the pastries are properly baked - not just pretty but actually good.
best order: pain au chocolat + a flat white. simple. perfect. eggs benedict if you’re brunching.
verdict: best work cafe in koregaon park. quiet, refined, good wifi, pet friendly. the parisian energy of lane 5 in one place. full review in my main pune guide.
5. grandmama’s cafe
north main road, kp / rs 1400 for two / wifi: yes / 8/10

originally a mumbai concept that landed in pune and became a local favourite. cozy, vintage, homely. feels like eating at your rich friend’s grandmother’s house. the recipes are comfort food done right - akuri on toast, special pizzas, marshmallow hot chocolate, salted caramel cheesecake.
the space is big enough that groups of 5-6 are genuinely comfortable, which is rare in kp where most cafes are designed for couples and solo visitors. the menu has something for everyone. nobody in the group will complain. that’s the superpower.
opens at 9am so it’s perfect for weekend brunch. gets crowded by noon though, so go early or prepare to wait.
best order: akuri on toast + thick shake. if you’re vegetarian, the paneer makhani pasta weirdly works. salted caramel cheesecake to finish.
verdict: best group cafe in kp. bring your squad, order everything, split the bill. reviewed in my main guide.
6. blue tokai coffee roasters
lane 5, kp / rs 650 for two / wifi: yes / 8/10

if you actually care about coffee - the origin, the roast, the brewing method - blue tokai is your spot in kp. this isn’t starbucks. they source single-origin beans from across india and take the craft seriously. pour-over, aeropress, chemex, v60. they do it all properly.
the kp outlet on lane 5 is massive. nearly 5000 sq ft, indoor and outdoor seating, air-conditioned, well laid out. opens at 7am which makes it perfect for early morning work sessions before the rest of kp even wakes up. wifi is fast, power outlets everywhere, and the staff genuinely doesn’t care if you camp for hours.
the food menu is basic - sandwiches, cookies, that kind of thing. but you’re here for the coffee. the vietnamese iced coffee is a standout. the affogato is solid.
best order: pour-over single origin (ask them what’s fresh). the vietnamese iced coffee if you need something cold.
verdict: best coffee in koregaon park. also one of the best work spots because of those early hours, the space, and reliable wifi. rs 650 for two makes it one of kp’s better value options too.
7. zen cafe
off north main road (behind starbucks) / rs 900 for two / wifi: yes / 7.5/10

in the middle of noisy, chaotic koregaon park, zen cafe exists as a pocket of silence. and i mean that literally. it’s hidden behind starbucks, the entrance is easy to miss, and the crowd comes specifically for peace.
wooden furniture, subtle lighting, greenery everywhere. the menu is vegan-friendly with sushi, paninis, burritos, smoothie bowls, and cold-press juices. freshly brewed coffee. minimal decor. no chaos, no music blasting, no one being loud.
not the cheapest - rs 900 for two is mid-range for kp. the food is decent, nothing extraordinary. you’re paying for the vibe and the silence.
best order: their house blend coffee + a panini. or a smoothie bowl if you want something lighter. keep it simple.
verdict: best cafe in kp for when you need to think. or not think. just exist quietly in a garden surrounded by greenery while kp buzzes around you.
8. chafa cafe & studio
south main road, kp / rs 1000 for two / wifi: yes / 7.5/10

part cafe, part art studio. earthy tones, swings as seats, plants everywhere. the crowd here is artists, designers, freelancers with sketchbooks - the kind of people who have “creative” in their instagram bio and actually mean it.
the food is health-conscious with vegan and gluten-free options. service can be slow during peak hours, so don’t come here if you’re in a rush. but for a relaxed session where you want to sketch, read, or just absorb some creative energy? it works.
pet friendly. laptop friendly. the art on the walls changes regularly which keeps things interesting. decent coffee, nothing mind-blowing.
best order: their signature chai + any baked item. or the vegan bowl if you’re eating healthy.
verdict: kp’s best artsy cafe. the vibe is the product. food is secondary. if you want to feel like you’re in a goa wellness retreat without the flight, this is it.
9. third wave coffee
lane 7, north main road end / rs 750 for two / wifi: yes / 7.5/10

i rated the fc road outlet higher in my main cafe guide but the kp outlet on lane 7 is solid too. minimalist interior, clean, good arabica coffee. the cappuccino is consistently aromatic and the croissant chicken sandwich is genuinely one of the better cafe sandwiches in pune.
lane 7 is busier and noisier than lane 5, so this isn’t the quietest work spot. but for a quick coffee meeting or catching up with someone over a good cup, it works. prices are fair for the quality you get - better than starbucks in both taste and value.
can feel cramped during peak hours. if you want space, hit blue tokai on lane 5 or the fc road outlet instead.
best order: cappuccino + croissant chicken sandwich. keep it classic.
verdict: reliable specialty coffee chain done right. consistent quality across outlets, no surprises. just good coffee at a fair price.
10. german bakery
north main road (near osho ashram) / rs 700 for two / wifi: no / 7/10

the OG. german bakery has been a koregaon park institution since the late 1980s. it survived everything - including the devastating 2010 incident, after which it rebuilt and came back. that alone earns respect.
tree-shaded outdoor seating, continental breakfast spread, the kind of old-school charm that new cafes can’t manufacture. the keema pav is a must-try. the mango cheesecake is solid. the thai chicken burger is surprisingly decent. opens at 7am, making it one of the earliest breakfast options in kp.
but let’s be honest: the food quality has been inconsistent recently. some days the bread is stale. service can be hit or miss. and there’s no wifi in 2026, which is a problem. prices have crept up but it’s still one of the more affordable options in kp.
i’m rating it a 7 partly for what it represents. it’s the cafe that put koregaon park on the map before kp was cool. backpackers, osho visitors, expats - everyone passed through german bakery at some point.
best order: keema pav + mango cheesecake + a masala chai. breakfast is the best time to come.
verdict: an icon. not the best food in kp anymore, but you visit german bakery at least once for the history and the tree-lined vibes. preferably for early breakfast.
11. cafe 1730
lane 6, kp / rs 1500 for two / wifi: yes / 7/10

lane 6 gets lively in the evenings and cafe 1730 feeds off that energy. multi-cuisine cafe-bar with a strong goan and continental menu. extensive seafood options. live music some nights. the sunday brunch buffet at rs 450 per person is decent value.
tall, spacious interiors with a european feel. low-lit, warm tones. good for a chill evening with friends or a casual date. the alfredo pasta is decent, the supreme nachos are generous.
the problem: the a la carte food is slightly overpriced for what you get. portions can feel small at rs 1500 for two. the evening crowd gets noisy. it’s more casual dining restaurant than quiet cafe.
best order: go for the sunday brunch buffet (best value by far). or the goan fish curry if you’re a la carte. the nachos for sharing.
verdict: solid lane 6 option for a chill evening. best experienced during the sunday brunch, not the a la carte menu.
12. mocha
lane 7, kp / rs 1000 for two / wifi: yes / 6.5/10

mocha used to be the cafe in kp. back in the day, this was the move. everyone went to mocha. the sheesha was legendary (before the ban). the vibe was unmatched.
in 2026, it’s… fine. the continental-fusion food is okay. the space in lane 7’s power plaza is decent. but mocha hasn’t evolved while everything around it has gotten better. the menu is too long, which is never a good sign - it tries to do everything and doesn’t excel at anything specific.
the crowd is still regular - mostly college groups and people who’ve been coming here out of habit. open till midnight, which is a plus.
i’m including it because people will search for it and it is technically still a kp cafe. but if you’re choosing between mocha and anything else on this list rated 7 or above, choose the other thing.
best order: stick to shakes and beverages. the food is inconsistent.
verdict: a legacy cafe riding on nostalgia. not bad, just thoroughly outclassed by the competition now.
13. cafe 108 bites
off lane 6, kp / rs 500 for two / wifi: no / 6.5/10
this is my budget pick for kp. a small, no-frills spot that doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not. decent sandwiches, good coffee, quick bites. no instagram aesthetics, no fancy plating, no rs 300 lattes.
it exists because not everyone in kp wants to spend rs 1200 for two. sometimes you just want a solid sandwich and a coffee without the premium. this delivers on that specific need.
best order: grilled sandwich + a cold coffee. rs 250 and you’re good.
verdict: the anti-aesthetic kp cafe. no vibes, no wifi, no frills. just cheap, decent food in an expensive neighbourhood.
the kp cafe hopping route
got an afternoon free? here’s my recommended walking route through kp’s best cafes. roughly 2.5km, 3-4 hours if you’re actually sitting and ordering at each stop.
stop 1: blue tokai (lane 5) - start with proper coffee. a single origin pour-over to wake up and set the tone. sit on the outdoor patio. 30 mins.
stop 2: the french window (lane 5) - walk 2 minutes down the lane. grab a pain au chocolat and read for a bit. the tree-lined lane between these two cafes is one of kp’s prettiest walks. 40 mins.
stop 3: cafe madeline (north main road) - walk 10 minutes up to north main road. this is the dessert stop. almond croissant + lavender latte. take your photos, enjoy the pink walls. 45 mins.
stop 4: german bakery (north main road) - walk 5 minutes east towards osho ashram. sit outside under the trees. grab a masala chai for old times’ sake. soak in the og kp energy. 20 mins.
stop 5: grandmama’s (north main road) - walk back 5 minutes west. end with a proper meal. you’ll be hungry after all that walking and coffee. get the akuri on toast and a thick shake. 60 mins.
total damage: roughly rs 2000-2500 per person across all 5 stops. total time: 3-4 hours. total regret: zero.
do this on a cool pune evening between november and february and you’ll understand why kp is pune’s best neighbourhood for cafes. and honestly, for a lot of other things too.
quick pick: what are you looking for in kp?

questions people ask about koregaon park cafes
which is the best cafe in koregaon park?
cafe madeline if you care about vibes and aesthetics (9/10). one o eight if you want the best food quality (8.5/10). blue tokai if you just want great coffee (8/10). there’s no single “best” because it depends on what you’re looking for. but if i had to pick one overall, it’s cafe madeline - the full experience is unmatched in kp.
best cafe in koregaon park for couples?
cafe madeline for the parisian romantic vibe - pink walls, floral ceilings, french music. the sassy spoon if you want cocktails and a more upscale evening. zen cafe if you prefer something quieter and intimate without the crowd. all three are solid date spots, just different energies.
best cafe in koregaon park for working?
the french window patisserie on lane 5. fast wifi, quiet crowd, good coffee, and nobody gives you the look if you sit for 4 hours. blue tokai on lane 5 is also excellent for work - opens at 7am, reliable wifi, plenty of power outlets, and 5000 sq ft of space means you always find a seat.
is koregaon park good for cafe hopping?
kp is literally pune’s best area for cafe hopping. you can hit 5-6 cafes in a single afternoon on foot. lanes 5, 6, and 7 are packed with options. start at blue tokai, walk to the french window, cut to cafe madeline, and end at grandmama’s. 2km total, 4 great cafes, one perfect afternoon. i’ve mapped out a full walking route above.
that’s 13 cafes in koregaon park. i’ve sat in every single one. spent roughly rs 15,000 across all of them over the last few months. some i’ve visited multiple times because they keep pulling me back.
kp earned its reputation as pune’s cafe capital. the density is insane - you can walk 500 metres in any direction and find a good cafe. that doesn’t happen in baner. it doesn’t happen on fc road. it only happens here.
for the full pune picture, read my 29 best cafes in pune guide which covers every area. i’ve also written about baner cafes specifically and have a dedicated work cafe guide if productivity is your main concern. kp is also pune’s hub for tattoo studios (5 of my top 10 are here), salons (b:blunt and tony & guy are both kp), and there’s even a coworking space on north main road.
and if you’re curious about why i spend so much time alone in cafes, this might explain it.
now if you’ll excuse me, i need to go back to blue tokai. the pour-over is calling.
